We hope you had meaningful High Holidays. Our rabbis and synagogues found new and innovative ways to create community and keep us all engaged and spiritually enriched.
These past 6+ months have been very, very challenging for all of us, our families, our community, and our country. Our staff and lay leaders continue to spend a great deal of time listening to the concerns of hundreds of people from every corner of Greater Los Angeles from our most vulnerable to our most committed philanthropists and supporters.
We have listened and responded to many questions about the pandemic, economic pressures, isolation, mental health challenges, and the health and welfare of our treasured communal institutions.
Lately, we are hearing new and growing concerns about the troubling rise in anti-Semitism, the emergence of hate groups, and the fear of many for their own safety and security.
We created the Community Security Initiative (CSI) to keep our community and our schools, synagogues, summer camps, and neighborhoods safe. CSI works directly with local and national law enforcement. CSI’s security experts work 24/7 to address threats and concerns.
Please be assured that we share your concerns and that our commitment has never been stronger to stand up to anti-Semitism and hate.
Sincerely,
Jay Sanderson
