The Interfaith Institute for Vulnerability and Family Darkness

Donations accepted

A pop-up opportunity to debrief communally on the subject of family dysfunction with humor and compassion. An evening of storytelling followed by a facilitated writing workshop for the audience, the Institute seeks to address the alienation and disconnection many of us feel upon encountering the normative culture of much institutional Judaism, and religion in general. Created by a group of participants on the Reciprocity retreat for LA-based Jewish artists, the event is open to absolutely everyone: you don’t need to be religious or live in a bottomless vale of darkness to participate. Last time we had a nice group of 20 people! We hope you’ll join us: it will be strange, healing, and fun. Donations appreciated. 7-10 p.m. At Temple Beth Israel of Highland Park. 5711 Monte Vista St, Los Angeles. Hosted by Oneg Shabbat North East LA Jewish Collaborative. Donations appreciated.
