In a recent blog post, we highlighted some of our Federation’s initiatives to revitalize Jewish life in Russia. In addition to leadership programs for Jews in their 20s and 30s and financial assistance for Jews in need, our Federation connects families with young children to Jewish life and holiday celebrations. This is part of our effort to ensure a strong and vibrant Jewish future for our family in Russia, a future that was once bleak as Jewish life was hindered by the Communist regime.
One of the ways we are strengthening the Russian Jewish community is through the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee’s (JDC) Yesod Family Programs in St. Petersburg. Yesod is infamous for hosting unforgettable holiday celebrations for all ages at their state-of-the-art Jewish Cultural Center. They also offer theater programs, professional concerts, Israeli cultural events and even a renowned Jewish kindergarten.
