Countdown to the Six Day War Project – Video #4

June 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the Six-Day War (June 5-10, 1967) between Israel and the surrounding Arab countries. We are excited to share the 12-part series with you, entitled “Countdown to the Six Day War Project.”

With the armies of several nations gathered on Israel’s borders, the public prepared for the worst. As Israel’s army was vastly outnumbered, Israelis suspended civilian life, converting schools to bomb shelters and more. The Israeli government convened to make a decision that would ultimately change the face of the region. Watch the fourth video of the mini-series to learn more, and what made this a ‘war of no choice.’

The war was a pivotal event in the history of the Middle East, the Jewish people, and Israel-Diaspora relations. The 6 Day War Project video series brings the dramatic and suspenseful events of 1967 transformed the State of Israel, through a series of 12 videos.

We will be sharing all 12, 2-3 minute short videos, co-sponsored by Jewish Federations of North America, which track the events of May and June 1967 as they unfolded 50 years ago. They cover the ramp up to war and go on to chronicle the events that took place on each of the six days.

The series concludes with several segments that cover the events that followed, examining the immediate and long term aftermaths of this iconic chapter in the history of the Jewish state.

Stay tuned for the 5th video!
