The 39th Annual Del Rey Yacht Club Jewish Federation Dinner Dance on June 9th was a great success! More than 130 members came together to socialize, learn and show their support for The Jewish Federation. This year’s theme was “Puttin’ on the Ritz” and many members came dressed ready to party.
Event Co-Chairs Arlene and Dr. Norman Carabet led the event committee who planned a very strong program. Federation’s General Campaign Chair Sharon Janks made a powerful case for giving that the members generously responded to by contributing close to $100,000 for The Jewish Federation’s Annual Campaign in support of our work caring for Jews in need, engaging with the community and ensuring the Jewish future.
The keynote speaker was Israeli Consul General David Siegel who did an outstanding job of illustrating the great successes and many challenges being faced by the state of Israel. He painted a picture of a prosperous country surrounded by uncertainty and threats due to the dramatic changes taking place in many of its neighboring countries. His words inspired everyone to continue their loyal support of Israel and the Jewish community.
