Created to ignite teens’ passions, inspire teen educators, and support vibrant organizations serving the future of the Jewish community, the LA Jewish Teen Initiative (LAJTI) is our Federation’s community-wide effort to engage teens in compelling and meaningful Jewish experiences that support them in leading healthy and fulfilled lives. By engaging teens in Jewish life, we are ensuring our Jewish future for generations to come.

LAJTI is co-funded by The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles and the Jim Joseph Foundation, with seed funding provided by the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles.

Community Internship Program
We coordinate paid summer internships that build skills and experience at highly-regarded Jewish nonprofit organizations throughout Los Angeles so teens gain real work experience and a paycheck.
Teen Innovation Grants
We give teens the encouragement and space they need to express themselves through the creative process from conception all the way to implementation – plus cash prizes!
The Burt & Elaine Margulis Teen Scholarship Fund
Our new scholarship fund takes the financial burden off of L.A. families so their teens (grades 7-12) are able to participate — worry-free — in short-term immersive Jewish programs like youth group Shabbatons and Jewish service learning trips.
Teen Wellness Parent Workshop
Knowing that parents sometimes need a little help, we offer free Parent Workshops that feature tips for communication in the context of the parent-teen connection as well as overall health and wellness recommendations for teens.
