THE WEDNESDAY LUNCH ‘N LEARN
Wednesdays 12:30 p.m. – Begins Oct. 9
A Textual Torah Study Group with Rabbi Moshe D. Bryski
Biblical Stories of the Bible
The Passing of Miriam (Sister of Moses)
The Passing of the High Priest Ahron (Brother of Moses)
The Hitting of the Rock
Moses Denied Entry into the Promised Land
The study group will delve into some of the Biblical stories recorded in the Book of Numbers Portion of Chukat.
Have you ever heard the story of Moses hitting a rock when instructed to speak to it? It was this “sin” that brought about the consequence of Moses being denied his life long dream of entering the Promised Land. Did the story make any sense to you? Where was justice? What was the big “sin”? Where is the “love” that G-d claimed He had for Moses? We will study this complex and puzzling story in its original text plus the very emotional passing of the one most beloved characters in the Bible Ahron the Kohen Gadol (High Priest) and his unique burial. Join us on Wednesday afternoons as we attempt to bring deeper meaning to the stories of the Bible.
You are invited to join this study group at any time during the semester.
