Where can you connect with other women who share your Jewish values, meet a best-selling author and journalist, and enjoy an elegant brunch in support of our Federation’s impactful work around the globe? D2: L’Dor V’Dor on Wednesday, October 1st at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica!
An event of our Federation’s Sylvia Weisz Women’s Campaign, D2: L’Dor V’Dor is a yearly celebration of women, from generation to generation, who have made a gift of $500 or more to The Jewish Federation’s 2014 Annual Women’s Campaign.
We’ll honor Allison Gingold with the Doris Factor Young Women’s Leadership Award. A former Chair of L’Dor V’Dor, and this year’s L’Dor V’Dor Vice Chair, Allison has been an active leader in our Federation’s Women’s Campaign for more than 15 years. Her commitment to the Jewish community extends to her position as President of University Women of American Jewish University, and she has served on the Parent Association Executive Board at Brentwood School.
We’ll also hear from journalist and best-selling author Abigail Pogrebin. Abigail penned Stars of David: Prominent Jews Talk About Being Jewish. Our keynote speaker’s writing has been featured in several publications, including New York Magazine and Newsweek. She has also served as a producer for Charlie Rose and Bill Moyers at PBS, then for Ed Bradley and Mike Wallace at 60 Minutes. In addition, as moderator of an interview series at The JCC in Manhattan, Abigail has interviewed Malcolm Gladwell, Nora Ephron and Mario Batali, among others. She will be signing copies of Stars of David, available for purchase at the conclusion of the event.
Join us for what promises to be an inspiring morning among women of all generations. Click here to sign up for D2: L’Dor V’Dor now. Feel free to invite female friends and family members as well—we look forward to expanding our circle! Please note that first-time donors to our Federation’s Women’s Campaign may make a minimum gift of $365.
