Dedicated construction crews are hard at work in triple-digit temperatures readying the new home of The Jewish Federation Valley Alliance. Walls separating disparate businesses have been knocked down; in their place one unified center for advancing and enhancing Jewish life in the five Valleys emerges. When finished, the new, Ventura Boulevard/Woodland Hills location will house offices, board and meeting rooms where Federation lay leaders and professional staff will continue the work of caring for Jews in need, engaging with the community and ensuring our Jewish future.
This new, freeway-close presence further enhances our ability to serve our Valley communities. We are thrilled to have this convenient, new location where we will be more accessible to our community, and we’re delighted that New Community Jewish High School is inhabiting our old space at the Milken Campus where new generations of Jews will have room to learn, grow and thrive.
Proud Valley Alliance leaders have participated in the construction progression, excited to have a direct and hands-on role in the building of our community. Said Valley Alliance Board Member Annette Lichtenstein, “It was such a good feeling to help build something that will help make our community even stronger. I’m thrilled we as a community will now have better access to the Valley Alliance in this new location.” Echoing her sentiments, Valley Alliance Vice Chair Rochelle Cohen said, “We’re so blessed with this new, more visible home away from home. On Ventura Boulevard, more people will drive by and say, ‘There’s The Jewish Federation.’”
I would like to thank the Federation’s leadership and staff, especially our own Carol Koransky, for their past and ongoing hard work in making the dream of a new, convenient Valley Alliance location a reality. (That’s Carol with me and The Jewish Federation’s Chairman Richard V. Sandler reviewing plans on site).
A grand opening celebration at the new site is planned when we will share what we have created with the community. Stay tuned for details.
