A Victory for Victory! School Library Restocked Through Toyota’s Generosity

On June 5, KOREH L.A. proudly gathered with Victory Boulevard Elementary School and Toyota Motor Sales to celebrate the restocking of Victory Elementary School’s library. With the help of LAUSD Library Services and volunteers, countless worn-out, dog-eared, and dated volumes were removed and replaced with 1,200 brand new books! The library restocking at Victory Elementary was truly a cause for celebration, and the school and its students made all of the guests feel welcome.

(Right above) Along with the Victory Boulevard Library Services Club, who greeted guests at the event, Andrea Massion, the Victory Elementary librarian, and her dedicated KOREH L.A. volunteer Anthony Hughes, performed a variety of tasks to prep for the library restocking. Andrea and Anthony spent many hours weeding out old books and re-stocking the shelves with the donations from Mrs. Nelson’s. Guests were greeted by enthusiastic library science club students and entertained with student performances of  reading-related songs and poems. We cannot thank Toyota Motor Sales enough, and KOREH L.A. would like to extend a special thanks to Michael Rouse, the Vice President of Diversity, Philanthropy, and Community Affairs at Toyota Motor Sales, for his continued dedication and stewardship of this terrific and vital program. During the nine years that Toyota Motor Sales and KOREH L.A. have partnered, we have restocked 15 libraries with over 18,000 new books! (Below right) Here are a few of the beautiful, brand new books that now sit on the shelves in Victory’s library.
