Walk to End Genocide this Sunday!

Join the entire community this Sunday morning at Pan Pacific Park for the Walk to End Genocide, a 5K walk and action fair to raise awareness and funds that provide vital resources for those suffering the effects of mass atrocities and genocide. The walk is the largest anti-genocide rally in the country.

Thousands of walkers of all ages will show their support for action against genocide. The annual walks have raised over $500,000 in the last 5 years and this year’s is being led by Honorary Walk Chair, Don Cheadle, along with fellow walk supporters Lisa Edelstein and Josh Radnor. For more information, please visit: www.walktoendgenocide.org.

The Walk to End Genocide is the largest public demonstration in the U.S. to bring attention and support for the people of Sudan – where an estimated 400,000 deaths have occurred and nearly 2 million people have been displaced since 2003, and hundreds of thousands of lives hang in the balance as the Khartoum regime wages a campaign of bombings and man-made famine in South Kordofan and Blue Nile States. In the Congo, over 5.4 million people have been murdered during past 10 years of conflict and countless women and girls have been brutally raped – estimated at 1,100 women and girls each day.

The Walk to End Genocide is hosted by Jewish World Watch, a Federation community partner and a leading organization mobilizing communities to combat genocide and mass atrocities around the world. For more information about the organization and its work go to www.JWW.org.
