On March 25th, our Federation held its second Community Service Day of 2012. More than 70 of our dedicated volunteers braved the heaviest rain storms of the year to participate in projects that benefited people all over Los Angeles – a true testament to their commitment and spirit!
In conjunction with the Mayor of L.A.’s Good Food Day, we helped community members get or grow the food they need by gardening in South Los Angeles and with Netiya in Studio City, as well as feeding and bringing comfort to families and patients with Project Chicken Soup and the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House. We also helped with and participated in the Friendship Circle of Conejo Valley’s Friendship Walk to support special needs programming. And lastly, we participated in arts and crafts and spent time with residents at the Jewish Home for the Aging.
We hope to see you at our next Community Service Day on June 3rd! To be placed on our volunteer e-mail list, please click here and fill out our short registration form.
