Young, Jewish, in L.A.? There’s an app for that.

There’s a new app in town, and it’s changing the way Jews in their 20s and 30s find, share and attend local events. It’s called GrapeVine and it’s a great way to find fun and meaningful activities right here in L.A. Best of all, the app is completely free!

How does GrapeVine work?

Once GrapeVine is downloaded, users create a profile, select their interests and location, set their contact preferences and rate the app’s recommendations. The more someone uses GrapeVine, the smarter it gets—and it soon makes personal recommendations as it learns each user’s individual tastes!

It’s also simple to use. In just a few taps or swipes, you can find out more about events that are going on, not only within our Federation’s young adult groups, but in the greater Jewish community as well. You can also sign in with Facebook. And since GrapeVine is a mobile app, it’s with you wherever you go!

What kinds of events can you find on GrapeVine?

  • Holiday services and Shabbat dinners
  • Beach parties
  • Happy hours and wine tastings
  • Museum and art exhibit openings
  • Discussion groups
  • Volunteer opportunities
  • Theatre and concerts
  • Sports and outdoor activities
  • And much more!

Whatever you find, you can be sure that it’s geared toward Jewish 20s and 30s in the Los Angeles area.

What else does GrapeVine do?

GrapeVine also delivers interesting content direct to users’ inboxes with a weekly newsletter, such as the “Top 5 Rosh Hashanah Gift Ideas for 2014,” holiday recipes, and articles with information on topics from Israel to health & wellness to entertainment—all written through a Jewish lens.

To download the app, or for more information, visit GrapeVine.

Don’t be on the outside looking in. Download GrapeVine now. And, if you know someone who would be interested in GrapeVine, share this blog post with them today!

GrapeVine is a partner of our Federation’s NuRoots young adult initiative with funding by the Jewish Community Foundation. For more information, contact Sara Allen at (323) 761-8287 or SAllen@JewishLA.org.
