Summer Soiree is back! On August 2nd at 7:00 PM, Young Adults of Los Angeles (YALA) is hosting an unforgettable night of music, food, photo booths, and more.
An initiative of Jewish Federation Los Angeles, YALA brings together Jewish young adults ages 22 to 40 through a diverse range of programming and experiences.
Summer Soiree was a signature YALA event for many years, bringing together over 500 young Jews annually for a fun and relaxed evening celebrating summertime. After taking a brief hiatus, it is now back by popular demand!
This year’s Summer Soiree will take place at Tiato in Santa Monica and feature all sorts of fun activities, such as live music by Zev the Wolf, a “fruit guy” (making our favorite street fruit mixes), oversized games like Jenga, and of course, a photo booth.

1. What do you enjoy about being on the YALA board? Why did you decide to join?
I joined the YALA Board to connect young Jews to The Jewish Federation because I know that no matter who they are, there is a place for them in our community.
2. What has been a YALA highlight for you so far this year?
Attending our new events about global Jewish experiences has been the highlight YALA event for me so far. Learning what our community does for Jews across the globe is inspiring and makes me proud to be a part of a community of such integrity. Hearing the international speakers share their experiences growing up was a powerful reminder not to take what we have for granted and to always help when I can.
3. What are you most excited about for Summer Soiree?
I am mostly excited to meet new people and show them how much fun being a part of The Jewish Federation can be.
4. What is your favorite part of summer or favorite thing to do in L.A. in the summer?
My favorite thing to do in L.A. all year round is to walk to the Santa Monica Farmers market with my husband and host a friend/family dinner party on Sundays. In the summer, I love to go to the Santa Monica Pier concerts on Thursdays.
5. Why should people join us August 2nd at Summer Soiree?
You should come to the Summer Soiree to meet the incredible mix of people who make up the Jewish population of Greater Los Angeles. Even if you don’t want to meet new people, you should come for the food, drinks, and live band. Just like YALA, there is a place for you at this event no matter what you’re interested in.
*All tickets to the Summer Soiree include a complimentary drink and full access to food, entertainment, and a cash bar. For information on tickets and pricing, please visit yala.org/summersoiree.
