It is difficult to verbalize what our community has been through in the last three months. Looking back to the start of the pandemic, when our world was turned on its head, the climate was chaotic and filled with uncertainty. What we experienced was brand new, terrifying, and isolating — all at the same time. We have each been met with varying degrees of personal loss and disruption to daily life.
It fills me with pride to think about how our Federation has worked to revive our community and become a critical source of support and resources. We have fed and cared for our most vulnerable during this unique period in history. We have breathed new life into our suffering Jewish communal organizations. We have counseled our teens struggling with mental health issues so they can regain the confidence and strength they need — to be the leaders we need. We have come so far in just a few months, building on our previous foundation.
While there is still much to be determined, there is one thing that remains certain: our Federation is here. We have always been here. We will always be here.
As you will see in this video, we are the one organization that has been here for over 100 years through crisis and stability to provide for our most vulnerable. To partner with our leaders. To unite us all.
When there was nowhere else for our community to turn — for food, comfort, connection — we were here.
