Valley Alliance Celebrates New Office Space in Woodland Hills

The Jewish Federation Valley Alliance feted the grand opening of its new home in Woodland Hills this past Sunday with a celebration that included community leaders, donors, elected officials, Federation leadership and other special guests. The new location allows greater proximity to our Federation’s supporters within the area served by the Valley Alliance, which will increase our ability to fulfill our mission of engaging the community, caring for Jews in need and ensuring a strong Jewish future.

Rabbi Ed Feinstein of Valley Beth Shalom synagogue, along with rabbis Don Goor, Jonathan Hanish and Jan Offel, led the installation of the mezuzah on the new office exterior followed by the Shehechiyanu blessing sung by members of the New Community Jewish High School choir.

Los Angeles City Councilmember Dennis Zine and LA County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, who represent the area in which the Valley Alliance is located, addressed guests and presented scrolls from the LA City Council and LA County Supervisor, respectively.

Dany Gliksberg, founder of Israel’s Ayalim Association, gave a special presentation on how our Federation’s partnership is building community in the Negev, just as our Federation is building community locally.

To culminate the ceremony, Federation Chairman Richard Sandler and Federation President Jay Sanderson cut the ribbon on the new facility alongside Valley Alliance Chair S. Alan Rosen and Executive Vice President Carol Koransky, who oversees the Valley Alliance. Tours of the new space were led by Valley Alliance professional staff.

“We are thrilled to continue our important work in our new, beautiful space,” said Carol Koransky. “The location offers us the added convenience of being closer to donors, so we may have even more opportunity for meaningful exchanges with the leaders who build, sustain and strengthen our community.”

Located at 19710 Ventura Boulevard (east end of Corbin Village Plaza), The Jewish Federation Valley Alliance moved from its location in West Hills on Vanowen Street after the site was purchased by New Community Jewish High School. The Jewish Federation Valley Alliance will continue to partner with humanitarian and Jewish communal institutions and serve the populations of the San Fernando, Conejo, Simi, Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys.  It is estimated that one-half of Los Angeles’ Jewish population resides within the territory served by the Valley Alliance.
