Come gather ‘round people, wherever you roam
And admit that the waters around you have grown
And accept it that soon you’ll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you is worth savin’
Then you better start swimmin’ or you’ll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin’— Bob Dylan – The Times They Are A-Changin’
We all know that change is both necessary and challenging.
During these increasingly uncertain times, it has never been clearer that our Federation is essential to the fabric of our Jewish community and that we do indeed touch every Jewish life, including yours.
In order to continue our best work supporting, sustaining, and building our Jewish community, our Federation will launch Federation 20/20, a change process designed to deepen our work, increase our impact, and extend our reach here in Los Angeles, in Israel, and around the world.
Federation 20/20 will bring a new vision and clarity to our work and will be a three-year change process extending into the year 2020.
Over the coming weeks, I will use these e-mails to detail Federation 20/20 so that you can transition from reader to active participant. Our goal is to broaden your engagement and increase our resources. We are in the relationship business and we need deeper relationships with both our programmatic partners and our community members.
Jewish Federation Los Angeles serves the largest geographic area of any Federation in America. Federation 20/20 is designed to make everyone living east, west, north and south feel connected to us and to our community.
Federation 20/20 is forward-thinking in how we invest in our community and how we need our community to invest in us. We are committed to working with you to ensure that our Federation will continue its work for generations to come.
Over the past 106 years, we have evolved and changed. We invite you to join us as this critical and inevitable process continues — Federation 20/20.
