Thank you for your strong support in 2020 for the health, welfare, security and sustainability of our beloved Jewish community. Together, we were able to make a powerful impact during this historic pandemic. Your generosity never meant more.
Two weeks ago when my elderly mother received her first shot, we were so grateful. We are all cautiously optimistic about 2021 and pray that we all receive our vaccinations in the coming months and that we can return to some sense of normalcy together with our families, friends, and community.
Still, we understand that we have a long year ahead. We continue to see increasing poverty and mental health issues in every corner of our community. We are deeply concerned about the long-term impact of this pandemic on our young people. Security remains at the top of our priority list. In 2020, our treasured Jewish institutions were challenged and the longer this goes on those challenges deepen.
We committed to you last year that our Jewish Federation would lead this community through this crisis. Our work met that commitment. This year, we reaffirm that commitment and promise to lead based on the mission of our — your — Federation.
We identify and address the greatest challenges and opportunities facing our Jewish community locally and globally. And we do it in a way only we can. That is what makes us the heartbeat of Jewish L.A.
We do this in service to our community. We do this in partnership with you.
Sincerely,
Jay Sanderson
