Ride for the Jewish Future!

On Sunday, October 27th, join us for The Jewish Federation’s first annual Tour de Summer Camps, a community cycling event that will raise funds for scholarships to help give more kids that magical connection to Judaism that only Jewish summer camps can provide.

Funding scholarships for Jewish summer camps is a top priority for our Federation as studies have definitively shown that they not only play an integral role in creating future leaders within the Jewish community, but that former campers grow up to be more Jewishly engaged, more connected to Israel, and more likely to pass on Jewish values and traditions to their own children. However, many families cannot afford to send their kids on this most meaningful summer journey. That’s where you come in!

Register as an individual or recruit your friends to sign up as a team and start fundraising! Get all the details now: TourDeSummerCamps.org

Set your own pace by picking from one of three spectacular routes:

  • 36 miles – Great for beginners, with easy nine-mile turnaround points
  • 62 miles – Perfect for seasoned cyclists who are up to the challenge
  • 100 miles – Designed for experienced endurance cyclists looking to push their limit

Each route starts and ends at Simi Valley’s picturesque Camp Alonim, one of the local Jewish summer camps your fundraising dollars will help kids attend. Your participation will also allow kids to go to Camp Akiba, Camp Gilboa, Camp Hess Kramer, Camp JCA Shalom, Camp Ramah, Gindling Hilltop Camp, Kibbutz Max Straus and Moshava Malibu.

Registration is now open, so sign up and customize your personal fundraising page today! Tour de Summer Camps will be much more powerful (not to mention, more fun) when you join together with a friend or two…or ten!  Consider forming a team with your friends, family, co-workers, camp alumni group, spin class and others. Our Tour de Summer Camps Coordinator will keep in touch to offer tips on fundraising as well as more info to prepare you for the ride.

We’re off to a great start with 30 teams and over 90 registered cyclists already! What are you waiting for?

Tour de Summer Camps will support our Federation’s work ensuring the Jewish future by sending even more kids to Jewish summer camp—sign up for this inspiring community event, and start fundraising today
