ENSURING A JEWISH EDUCATION
Our Federation believes that every family who wants a Jewish education for their child should be able to receive one. Our Federation has expanded our support for Early Childhood Education Centers (ECCs) Financial Aid Awards (FAAs) to address affordability concerns and help ensure that families with young children have access to a Jewish education. Families who are financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic are eligible to receive a $2,000 award towards tuition as we allocate crucial resources to every eligible Jewish ECC. The benefits of a Jewish education last a lifetime, and we are making sure it is available and affordable to families most in need.
ON THE FRONT LINES OF THE FIGHT AGAINST ANTISEMITISM
Our Federation is dedicated to fighting the scourge of antisemitism in all its forms. As antisemitic incidents and hate crimes continue to rise at alarming levels, we continue to battle on many fronts, including training young Federation community members to be advocates and leaders through our National Young Leadership Cabinet (NYLC). The program cultivates, trains, and inspires young leaders to take on positions locally and nationally that will have a major impact on the future of the global Jewish community. We are so proud that four members of the NYLC L.A. contingent recently attended the Jewish Federations of North America Day of Activation in Washington D.C. Together, these four Cabinet members helped secure a commitment from the Biden Administration to fill the role of Ambassador to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism at the State Department and led a delegation that met with top congressional leaders who are spearheading the federal government’s fight against antisemitism. NYLC is Federation’s five-year premier national leadership and philanthropic development program.
