Tomorrow, we will celebrate Thanksgiving. The very first Thanksgiving came amid a very brutal winter. This Thanksgiving comes amid a historic pandemic that has deeply impacted our community, our country, and our world. The pilgrims celebrated the bounty before them and were grateful.
As Jews, we begin each day with prayers of gratitude. The first words we say each morning are Modeh Ani, “I give thanks.”
Tomorrow, I will start my day expressing gratitude. Today, I express my deepest gratitude to you. Our community counted on you for your support during this time of extreme crisis and you responded thoughtfully and generously.
On behalf of the most vulnerable among us, thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Jay Sanderson
