Winter 2016 Early Childhood Special Needs Symposium- Seminar 3 (JDAIM)

Please join us for a series of evenings designed for early childhood teachers, directors, specialists, parents and other ECE professionals. Each evening will be hosted by a school located within the Greater Los Angeles area as we are joining together in unity and with strength of numbers to ensure that every child and every family has a place in our community.   UCLA Education Extension offers Early Childhood Education units for attendance with the addition of a short essay assignment. Each three seminars you attend could provide you with one ECE unit for a maximum of three units. Additional information will be provided to UCLA Extension participants.   —————————————————————————————————- SEMINAR 3: “Learn How to Identify and Manage Gifted Children in the Early Childhood Environment”. Presented by Dr. Dan Peters and Dr. Paula Wilkes of the Summit Center.   Dr. Dan Peters is co-founder and Executive Director of the Summit Center. Dr. Peters has devoted his career to the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and families, specializing in issues related to giftedness and twice-exceptionality. He is passionate about helping parents and teachers to better engage children in the classroom, at home, and in life, so that they can realize their full potential. Dr. Paula Wilkes is a Gifted Education Consultant at the Summit Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Wilkes provides counseling and consultation for parents and students on gifted and “twice-exceptional” issues (including sensitivity and intensity); and works as an advocate for gifted students to help schools understand and implement Differentiated Educational Plans. —————————————————————————————————-   Each seminar will cost $26 individually.
