Live, Lunch, Learn Presents: Teens, Eco-Justice, and Social Activism 

Our Live, Lunch, Learn Series returns Friday, February 3rd from 12:00 – 1:00 PM to discuss healthy ways for our teens to advocate for the causes that matter most to them. 

Many Jewish teens are passionate and vocal about a range of social causes, like the climate crisis, environmental justice, abortion rights, LGBTQ rights, antisemitism and racism, to name a few. As parents, how do we encourage our teens to be change-agents, even if we don’t share their perspective or passion? What skills can parents offer to help safeguard teen wellbeing from the anxiety, frustration, or sense of powerlessness they may feel about the world’s problems? We will look at Jewish wisdom around activism, tikkun olam (repairing the world), and Jewish eco-values around ba’al taschit (being ethical, non-destructive citizens of the earth).
