Books Beyond Borders
Join AJWS Los Angeles’s Traveling Global Justice Book Club!
Every other month, in multiple locations throughout the Los Angeles area, we will meet to discuss fiction and non-fiction works that relate to American Jewish World Services’ mission to promote human rights and end poverty in the developing world. Each book will inspire a rich discussion about current events and global justice issues and provide a vivid backdrop for understanding the work AJWS does.
Join AJWS and its Global Circle session for young professionals to discuss A Path Appears by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn!
In their previous New York Times bestseller Half the Sky, Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn shed light on the inequality and oppression facing women and girls around the globe. Their new book, A Path Appears, focuses on the inspiring work of people who give back to their communities, both at home and abroad. The authors share the stories of global citizens who have made the world a better place and they outline specific ideas for how you can make a difference, as well.
