Born from the creative minds of Sarah Klegman and Elina Tilipman, Challah Hub shares original, funky challah recipes with modern challah bakers scouring the internet for new ideas. With a blend of entrepreneurial spirit and love of tradition, these two Jewish millennials are evolving with contemporary Jewish culture — and having a delicious time doing it! They’ve experimented successfully with Instagram, racking up almost 5,000 followers, and now they’re on to their next challah-related adventure: a little something they call Happy Challahday!
Happy #Challahday is appropriately coming up on September 13th, just in time for Rosh Hashanah. Co-presented by Challah Hub and UberEATs, this one-of-a-kind challah event couldn’t be more convenient. All you have to do is download the Uber app and use it to order challah that will be delivered right to your door. Plus, The Jewish Federation’s NuRoots will donate challah to a local shelter. It’s a Challahday miracle!
Challah Hub isn’t a brick and mortar bakery just yet, so it’s thanks to bakeries Got Kosher and Breakaway Bakery for making this historic day of challah possible. Happy Challahday will be the L.A. community’s first introduction to Challah Hub, which has plans to eventually open a physical bakery of its own. Sometime in the not so distant future, you’ll be able to walk in, grab a sample of mint chocolate chip challah, and take some home for your family and friends. In the meantime, Challah Hub holds tasting events where you can try more than 25 specialty challahs and get a custom screen-printed apron or towel, teaches private baking classes, hosts networking and challah-eating events, provides challah for special events, and more.
With this modern take on a beloved classic, Challah Hub’s goal is to keep Jewish traditions alive, bringing together old and new, religious and reform, jalapeño and gruyère!
Viva la challahvolution!
