Over 230 men joined up for a great time, and an evening of community, all in support of our Federation’s work at The Jewish Federation Valley Alliance Men’s Night Out on May 22nd. The event featured three rockin’ bands – Mary Ellen Says No, All Day Sucker and Vaud and the Villains – as well as headliner and Comedy Central celebrity roastmaster Jeffrey Ross and stand-up comic Elon Gold who served as the emcee between acts.
Cigars, a game truck and premium tequila were also part of the mix at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills as the men raised their MNO glasses to toast our Federation and all it has made possible for our community. Valley Alliance Campaign Co-Chair Jim Felton reminded everyone how they and their families are connected to our Federation through PJ Library, Jewish Business Leaders Roundtable, summer camp grants, Birthright Israel trips and various Federation Missions – not to mention the friendships, business relationships and sense of community fostered through our Federation.
“Federation is what enables many of us to connect, contribute and be part of the Los Angeles Jewish community,” said Felton. “It’s our way into meaningful, Jewish community involvement, and it has given us a way to be an example for our kids.”
Even with cocktails beginning at Happy Hour, the house rocked ‘til well after 10 p.m. thanks to the vibe set by event chairs Larry Cohen, Steve Martini, Paul Pepperman and Rob Wynner. Check out all the festivities:
For our next Federation men’s-only opportunity, join us on our Men’s Mission to New Orleans happening November 1-4, 2012.
