DESCRIPTION:
This is an easy 3 mile loop hike with 450 ft elevation gain from the TreePeople Coldwater Canyon Park to Wilacre Park Estate with nice views of the San Fernando Valley along with Chaparral covered ridges and wooded canyons surrounded by residential neighborhoods. This is an easy hike for those who have hesitated to join us before with a great opportunity to get introduced to hiking, nature and a fun, friendly group of people. California black walnut trees arch over much of the wide trail, providing early shade and beauty along the way for all to enjoy. We will meet at the end of the Parking Lot by the water fountain. The hike should be over around noon and we can go to brunch at after the hike at Twain’s 12905 Ventura Blvd, Studio City 91604 (at Coldwater Cyn) (818) 760-9577.
WHAT TO BRING:
two liters of water, snacks, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, hiking boots or shoes with good traction, daypack, hiking poles/sticks, shorts and a T-shirt or long pants and long sleeved shirt, depending on weather. Clothes should be loose fitting, and light-colors are preferable
FOOTWEAR: Hiking boots or shoes with good traction. Absolutely no sandals or open toed shoes.

WEST SIDE CARPOOL Pico Blvd & Robertson: 9:30 A.M. Leaving 9:35 A.M.
Meet at the municipal parking lot on the south side of Pico Blvd west of Robertson blvd between Robertson blvd and Livona ave next to B Nai David Congregation 8906 Pico Blvd L.A. 90035. DIRECTIONS FROM THE WESTSIDE:
West on Pico blvd œ mile to Beverly drive. Right (north) on Beverly Drive for 2.1 miles. Past Sunset blvd continue on Beverly Drive which turns into Coldwater Canyon Drive. Continue 3 miles to the intersection with Mulholland Drive. Go to the left, staying on Coldwater Canyon Dr. and proceed 0.4 miles to the posted Coldwater Canyon/TreePeople Park on the right. Turn right into the parking area. Meet at the back of the parking lot away from Coldwater Canyon.

DIRECTIONS FROM THE VALLEY:
Proceed south on Coldwater Canyon Drive for 1.6 miles to the intersection with Mulholland Drive. The posted Coldwater Canyon / TreePeople Park entrance is on the left (east) side of the intersection. Meet at the back of the parking lot away from Coldwater Canyon.

Please allow plenty of time flexibility when participating in our hikes / activities!
If you are unsure of your fitness level please join us on one of our easier hikes before doing any advanced hikes. We would recommend that you can walk at least 6 miles before coming on any of our hikes.
It is not appropriate to RSVP for an event and not show up. Members can be terminated for repeated offenses.
Please read the description of the event carefully before attending.

The Outings may include carpooling, transportation, or transit to and from the Outings, and you are personally responsible for all risks associated with this travel. However, even though carpooling is recommended, it is not mandatory.
RESPONSIBILITY: I am not responsible for you. You are responsible for you and your minors. You should be self-sufficient and be able to find your way to safety in the event you find yourself on your own. I will not lead you back to the trailhead if you decide to turn back.

If you choose to participate in any The JOA events, you are releasing the Jewish Outdoor Adventures and it’s organizers from all liability in case of possible injuries, death including loss of or damage to property.
