Working Together to Strengthen Jewish Identity

During my visit in Israel this past week, I spent countless hours in conversation with Israeli and North American leaders. We discussed how we can build a stronger connection between Diaspora Jews and Israelis. We talked about the challenge of strengthening the Jewish identities of all Jews here, in Israel, and around the world. We agreed that this is essential work. And that we need to do this work together.

Speaking of working together, on Sunday I will join hundreds from across our community as we ride for the Jewish future during our Tour de Summer Camps. This annual event has helped make the dreams of hundreds of children come true, enabling them to attend exceptional Jewish summer camps in the L.A. area. It is the one day a year where people of all ages and from all backgrounds put on bike helmets and ride side by side to help children in need and strengthen their Jewish identities through the life-changing experience of camp.

I hope you’ve had an opportunity to listen to my weekly podcast, Jay’s 4 Questions. This coming week, we will be airing our 50th episode! I’ve had 50 incredible conversations with Jewish leaders, chefs, entertainers, athletes, and other remarkable people — all making an impact in their fields and on Jewish life.

Every week, one of my four questions is, “What is the greatest challenge facing the Jewish people?” I would love to read your response.

Thank you for reading these e-mails and for sharing my deep commitment to our community.

Shabbat Shalom,

Jay Sanderson
