Social Services for Those Impacted by the Wildfires

Jewish Federation Los Angeles is deeply committed to ensuring the safety, care, and well-being of our community and to supporting those who have been affected by the recent wildfires. The local wildfires have had devastating effects on our Los Angeles Jewish community. Many individual and families have been evacuated, and some have already lost their homes. Jewish institutions have been damaged and destroyed.

In response to dire and evolving needs, we expanded the services offered by our Ezra Network, which now, more than ever, provides assistance to those facing hardship.

If you need help, call our Emergency Hotline at (323) 761-8100 from 8:00 AM-8:00 PM, seven days a week. A dedicated professional will connect you with social services, as well as legal and financial assistance.

You can also meet with a professional in person for counseling, financial and legal assistance, and more. These services are available Monday-Thursday from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM at The Jewish Federation, 19710 Ventura Blvd., Woodland Hills, CA 91364. These services will be offered by our Federation’s Ezra Network, which works with our partners Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles and Bet Tzedek. Federation partner Jewish Free Loan Association will also be on site to assist with time-sensitive financial needs. This location will offer help to those in our community facing hardship and dealing with evacuation, loss, trauma, and other issues as a result of the wildfires.

  • For counseling and case management services, Ezra Network social workers and professional staff will offer free, in-person counseling and case management.
  • For legal assistance, the Ezra Network legal counselor and professional staff will offer free, in-person legal advice and case management.
  • For financial assistance, loan analysts and professional staff will offer free, in-person loan consultation.

Beginning the week of November 19th, the Ezra Network will also offer “Your Right to Know” — free, in-person and online information sessions providing answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding insurance, emergency benefits, and renter’s rights. Dates and details to follow.

Please share this e-mail with anyone who may be affected by the fires. When we come together to support one another, especially in difficult times — we feel the power of community.
