Entwine Down the Block | Los Angeles

For the first time ever, JDC Entwine is heading Down the Block, exploring the global Jewish communities right here in our backyards.

Join us and The Nazarian Initiative of NuRoots and the Jewish Federation as we explore the Iranian-Jewish community of Los Angeles and its unique commitment to building bridges across identity. Together, we’ll learn about the migration of Iranian Jews to Los Angeles, taste the flavors and foods this community brings to our city, and understand how JDC has worked with immigrant communities worldwide.

Sunday, August 15, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Highlights of our day include:
– Access to the incredible history of the Iranian-Jewish community in LA, including a learning session with UCLA professor and scholar, Dr. Nahid Pirnazar
– A traditional Iranian lunch with local Iranian-Jewish identifying young professionals
– Walking tour of the Pico-Robertson neighborhood
– The opportunity to connect with new people and like-minded folks in your city
– Understand how JDC and The Nazarian Initiative have shaped our communities locally and abroad

We will start our day in Pico-Robertson. Exact location for meet up will be provided upon confirmation.

This program is welcome to Jews in their 20s and 30s of all cultural backgrounds and has been designed for those who are curious to learn about Iranian Jewry at all levels of familiarity.
