POSITION: NuRoots Communications Assistant
SALARY: $50,000 (Grade 10A Classification: $43,252 to $63,311)

About this position
We’re looking for a talented and organized Communications Assistant to join our team of diverse individuals. Reporting to NuRoots’ Senior Creative and Communications Director, this role will support the team’s busy creative and marketing flow to help reach, engage, and inspire thousands of Jewish Angelenos in their twenties and thirties through a wide range of projects and campaigns.
This position will be responsible for keeping content assets organized and projects on track, assist in maintaining web pages and social media, help facilitate the development and production of content and collateral, and contribute ideas and perspectives as a full and unique member of our team. Support communications operations:
o Manage team communications calendar (social media, newsletters, and email sends)
o Create and help maintain content documents and spreadsheets
o Manage shared drive asset organization
o Maintain external event calendars
o Post to social media, and set up and manage ads
o Help prepare newsletters and email sends
o Help liaise with Federation’s Creative Services department
o Help participate in strategies for visibility and market growth
Assist in building, updating, and maintaining communications channels:
o Web pages
o Event registration pages
o Event calendar pages
o Printed collateral
o Social media campaigns
o Subscriber lists
Assist with content creation:
o Participate in project intakes
o Attend our community offerings and get to know our community members
o Collect source material and help develop drafts and assets
o Help prepare presentations, reports, and funding proposals
Assist with research:
o Photos and art
o New technology
o Community resources and content
Other duties may be assigned as needed, including assisting with the Federation’s annual campaign. Be available to help staff events and meetings outside normal working hours.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR POSITION:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Skilled in multiple social media platforms
- Detail oriented
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Able to be trained in new software and technology
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a timely manner
- A hybrid work model will be implemented for certain positions during transition back to worksite(s). This position must report to worksite on non-remote workdays, as determined by the Federation. Once the transition is complete, this position will be expected to perform work on site

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
o Graphic design experience
o Web design and development experience
o Coding, animation, and video experience
o Knowledge of Jewish life
o Familiarity with Los Angeles
