A Most Compelling and Unusual Story: Jennifer Teege Speaks at Brentwood Country Club

On October 1st, over two hundred generous Brentwood Country Club Women celebrated their support of The Jewish Federation’s Sylvia Weisz Women’s Philanthropy.

After a delicious lunch, special guest speaker Jennifer Teege, author of the internationally-bestselling book My Grandfather Would Have Shot Me, addressed the group. Jennifer spoke about the emotional roller coaster that resulted from her shocking discovery that her biological grandfather was Amon Goeth, the brutal Nazi commandant portrayed by Ralph Fiennes in the film Schindler’s List. The audience was riveted and uplifted by her most unusual and compelling story. You can read an excerpt from My Grandfather Would Have Shot Me.

We’d like to thank Martha Berkett & Beverly Sturman, Brentwood Country Club Women’s Co-Chairs, and Ruth Salk & Lauren Schiff, Luncheon Co-Chairs, who led the effort for this hugely successful event. As many members were joined by their mothers, daughters, sisters, granddaughters, and nieces, all generations were represented and contributed to the special day.
