Mental Health Services
As the Federation continues to provide a broad social service safety net for Jews in need in Los Angeles and Israel through programming and partnering with expert social service providers, we are working to further our mental health strategy to reach as many Jews as possible as needs in this area increase.
Our Federation is pioneering a complementary multipronged approach to meet the mental health needs of the Jewish community by creating a more focused safety net of mental health services that includes the following:
Ezra Network Mental Health Services
The Jewish Federation’s Ezra Network, in partnership with Jewish Family Service, can help you access the mental health services you need. Whether you’re looking for one-on-one short- or long-term counseling or support groups, we have it all — in the comfort and privacy of your own home or at a Jewish institution and at no cost to you.
Through the Ezra Network, we have also created a low-barrier way for college students to access in-person or virtual mental health services on college campuses. A social worker will work with college students one-on-one and facilitate support groups, serving as a knowledgeable referral source and able to identify and strengthen student support networks, provide training and consultation to Hillel colleagues, and arm Hillel staff with the tools to offer student support.
The Maple Counseling Center
Our Federation is now partnering with The Maple Counseling Center to offer a variety of services and support that spans the range of mental health needs across the age spectrum. Current offerings include programs for individuals suffering from anxiety, depression, grief, eating disorders, and addiction; couples counseling; group therapy on topics of bereavement, LGBTQ+ issues, and women’s issues; specialized services for older adults; family therapy; community-based preschool mental health programs; and more.
National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI)
Our newest partnership with National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI) Westside Los Angeles provides free and accessible mental health care. This alliance offers clinical office hours with a licensed mental health professional, peer and family support groups, guidance from those with lived experience, educational programs, and referrals for individuals and families living with mental health conditions.
