May 8, 2008, the international Jewish community celebrates the
60th anniversary of the Jewish State. In Los Angeles,
our community
will celebrate with a number of events and programs. The Jewish Federation
is a proud sponsor of these four great ways to celebrate Israel’s
60th.
Israel
Independence Day Festival
Sunday, May 18, 10am to 10pm
Join the entire community in Van Nuys’ Woodley Park for this day-long celebration
of Israel’s 60th anniversary, featuring non-stop entertainment, carnival
rides, 250 booths of vendors and Jewish/Israeli organizations, a variety of ethnic
foods, Israeli folk dancing, and arts and crafts. Local, state and federal dignitaries
will be in attendance, and you should be, too!

Don’t miss this spectacular Israeli Independence Day Gala
Concert at the Kodak Theatre, featuring Israeli superstars Rami
Kleinstein,
Noa, Habonot Nechama, Keshet Chaim Dance Ensemble and Idan Raichel.
The evening is part of Let My People Sing’s 60 4 60 – 60
hours of non-stop activities celebrating Israel’s 60th anniversary.

Be there at the Forum in Inglewood as the Jewish and Christian
communities gather together to celebrate Israel’s 60th anniversary.
Produced by the Israel Christian Nexus, in collaboration with the
Federation,
the Israeli Consul General and local synagogues and churches, the
evening features performances by the best Jewish and Christian
choirs in the city, and the presentation of the King David Award
for Courage
and Leadership in Defense of the State of Israel.
